"Hello, my name is Toru Osaki. I'm from Nagoya, Japan and now stay at Honolulu with my family (wife and son). I was a freelance translator in Japan and my duty was to translate Japanese Patent documents into English. My job involves only reading and writing and I had no chance to improve my English conversation skill, so I'm now studying at GEOS to attain higher proficiency in English conversation skill. GEOS staff and teachers are all very friendly and kind to students. For example, Lisa, who is my morning-class teacher, corrects my mistakes very kindly with smile, which encourages me to speak English without being afraid of failures. Also, Craig, who is my afternoon-class teacher, gives me a great opportunity to indulge in a shower of spoken English (nonstop live English talk provided by Craig as well as recorded English conversation played by a CD player), which is a great help to brush up my English conversation skill. My classmates are all very good at English and give an impetus to study very hard. Living in Hawaii and studying at GEOS are a truly exciting and wonderful experience for me. If you have a plan to study English abroad, I strongly recommend you to consider Hawaii and GEOS. I believe that you will have a great experience in studying abroad as well as living abroad here like me." ~ Toru Osaki (JAPAN) |
