Study Japanese in Hawaii with GEOS! The GEOS Japanese language program is designed to help students build fluency skills in both spoken Japanese and written Japanese. Students learn Japanese skills through classroom conversational interaction with qualified native instructor and modern materials, as well as practical and entertaining activities. GEOS believes that fastest and most effective path to fluency in Japanese is through conversation. Thus, students are encouraged to use their new Japanese language skills as quickly and as frequently as possible. Early, continued success in speaking and understanding helps build the confidence needed in real-life conversational situations. Building confidence is the primary goal of all GEOS language courses. Our Japanese language program is staffed by instructor who is not only qualified professionals, but also friendly, enthusiastic and patient – these qualities are essential in helping to build confidence and maintain motivation. Japanese learn levelsBeginner Japanese Beginner Japanese course introduces students to spoken and written Japanese, with emphasis on oral communication. Students study past, present and future tenses, as well as basic Japanese vocabulary. By the end of the course, students will have the confidence to enjoy simple conversations at a restaurant, grocery store, etc. Students will also learn Japanese Hiragana and Katakana as well as basic Kanji. Intermediate Japanese At the Intermediate Japanese level, students sharpen their Japanese grammar and conversational skills by reading from Japanese letters and texts written in Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. Increasing one – on – one instruction helps student fine tune their language abilities. Written exercises are expanded to include more Kanji and Kanji combinations. Master Japanese The main goal of the Master Course is to help students refine their communication skills on an advanced level. Students work with a variety of exercises – written compositions, oral presentations, and newspaper readings among them- all followed by classroom discussion. Advanced Kanji are studied as well.
