Our experiences ReportWhere is your homestay located?
It is in Hawaii kai, Kalama valley and you never need an air conditioner since it is always cool. It is surrounded by mountains and it is a nice quiet area.
How do you spend your time with your host family?
I had conversations with family about what I did that day and also about Japan. After dinner, I tried to help do the dishes all the time.
How do you spend your weekends?
I often meet my GEOS friends on the weekend, so my family did other things. We are independent here.
What was the most impressive thing that you have done with your family?
We went to Waikiki beach to have a picnic on July 4th, and celebrate that day with watching beautiful fire works.
Did you have any trouble?
Nothing, I had a really good time with my host family. When I first saw a geko, I was surprised but I got to used to it because it is Hawaii and you will see a lot of them.
Any comment for future GEOS students.
I believe you can improve your English if you do homestay! You shouldn't do it weekly, it is better to do monthly if possible.
